Details:
The uprights should be 10mm round bar, 180mm long with 5mm screw thread 15 mm deep.
Use M5 x 12 screws.
The clip is meant to be put over the top two rings to prevent the flexible shaft from jumping out and to carry around so the shaft doesn’t fall out.
The small hole is for a 2mm steel braided cable so they don’t get lost.
