Lightweight Croco Chain is designed for blockage removal in metal and ceramic pipes using thinner shafts or lower power systems.
We made this lightweight version of the Croco Chain for clients who are using thinner flexible shafts or smaller power sources. It has all the features of the heavy-duty chain with the exception of the weight. This allows you to achieve the same results with less torque.
The drill head has hardened alloy bits facing forward which have channels in opposing directions, making this chain a great choice for blockage removal in pipes.
Centrifugal force keeps the tool centered in the pipe, ensuring consistent cleaning of the full inner surface.
Its cutting design is similar to the X-tip but less aggressive, making it more suitable for controlled pipe preparation and relining work.
The adjustable construction also allows use in smaller diameter pipes by increasing the spacing between connection hubs.
It is suitable for removing rust, calcium build-up, roots, and general obstructions in metal, cast iron, concrete, copper, steel, and ceramic pipes. More experienced users report that they use these chains in UG PVC pipes as they do not keep them stationary for long enough for the hard metal bits to damage the PVC.
Important: Using an imperial Allen key may strip the set screws. We recommend using a metric Allen key instead.

Applications:
We generally recommend pairing lightweight chains with 6mm (1/4") and 8mm (5/16") shafts, while 10mm (3/8") and 12mm (1/2") shafts are considered heavy-duty and can be paired with heavy-duty chains.
