Description
This patch lining bladder is specifically designed for cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) repair and trenchless pipe relining applications. Made from high-grade silicone, it offers excellent release properties due to its low surface energy of 24 dynes/cm, which prevents epoxy from bonding to the surface.
Unlike rubber bladders, silicone does not react negatively with epoxy resin. Instead, the resin cures cleanly against the pipe wall while the bladder can be easily removed afterward. This makes it an ideal solution for efficient and repeatable patch lining work.
The bladder is manufactured with a 1mm (0.04″) wall thickness, allowing for better flexibility and performance under pressure. It features a seamless welded construction, significantly reducing the risk of leaks and increasing overall durability.
These bladders are suitable for both hot water curing and steam curing applications and can withstand temperatures up to 80°C (176°F).
We also offer bladders suitable for UV curing systems, which are available here.
Recommended pressure: 0.7 bar to a maximum of 1.0 bar (except for sizes 200mm and above. The recommended pressure for these is 0.5 bar to a maximum of 0.7 bar.)
Each bladder is manufactured approximately 10% smaller than the nominal pipe size, allowing for controlled expansion during inflation to ensure a tight fit inside the pipe. For example, DN100 refers to the pipe size, while the bladder itself measures 90mm; DN150 corresponds to a 135mm bladder, and so on. When pressurised, the bladder expands to match the pipe diameter.
Please note that silicone bladders may experience approximately 10% shrinkage during use, which is a normal characteristic of the material.
Important note: All bladders are manufactured upon order, which may cause a slight delay in delivery.
