The Pipe Coating Brush is designed for lower viscosity pipe coating applications, offering smooth and even application with its fine 0.35mm (0.014″) bristles. It is also suitable for dust and light debris removal in pipe and duct systems.

Description

This Pipe Coating Brush is meant for lower viscosity pipe coating applications. The bristle thickness is 0.014″ (0.35mm). Some pipe coating systems require a thicker bristle because they use higher viscosity fluids, so the Pipe Cleaning Brush may be more appropriate for that equipment, as it has a bristle thickness of 0.02″ (0.5mm).

The brush diameter shown refers to the size of the brush itself, not the pipe size.

The brush is mounted to the flexible shaft using set screws. Due to the PVC hub construction with steel set screws, it is recommended to use a Shaft Lock to ensure a secure fit and reduce the risk of damaging the hub under torque.

This brush is also commonly used in duct cleaning applications, where the fine bristles are effective for removing dust and light debris.

Brush diameters:

  • 1.26" (32mm)
  • 2" (50mm)
  • 2.16" (55mm)
  • 3" (75mm)
  • 3.1" (80mm)
  • 4.4" (110mm)
  • 6.4" (160mm)

Shaft compatibility:

  • 1/4" (6mm)
  • 5/16" (8mm)

Bristle thickness:

  • 0.014" (0.35mm)

Important: Using an imperial Allen key may strip the set screws. We recommend using a metric Allen key instead.

A screw set with metric Allen keys can be found here.

  • Select the correct brush size for your shaft and application.
  • Mount the brush onto the flexible shaft using the set screws.
  • Always use a Shaft lock to secure the brush properly and reduce stress on the plastic hub.
  • Insert the brush into the pipe and run at controlled speed.
  • Use for applying low viscosity coatings or for cleaning dust and light debris.
  • Remove periodically if needed to check coverage or clear buildup.

PRO TIPS:

  • Experienced users place a rubber washer between the brush lock and the brush hub to prevent slipping. Please take a look at the video we created on this topic.
  • Another genius idea that a customer has shared with us is that they purchased a brush for a 5/16" (8mm) shaft, and then cut a small piece of silicone tubing which had an inner diameter of 1/4" (6mm) with a 0.039" (1mm) tube wall. They then put the silicone tubing onto their 1/4" (6mm) shaft, which created a silicone barrier between their shaft and the brush. When they tightened their brush to the shaft, the set screws tightened into the silicone and spread the pressure of the set screw over a larger surface. This ensured that the brush does not slip when rotating. We have also created a video on this topic.
