The Shaft Lock Set is designed to keep your flexible shaft’s protective sleeve securely in place and prevent unnecessary movement during drain cleaning.

Excess exposed shaft near the drill is a known weak point: if the shaft stops suddenly and the torque limiter does not engage in time, that exposed section is the area most vulnerable to kinking. By locking the sleeve firmly at the desired position, you can minimise exposed shaft and increase the overall safety and durability of your setup.

While sleeve movement has little impact on performance, many professionals prefer a precise amount of exposed shaft on the drill end or tool end. The Shaft Lock Set allows you to set that distance exactly as you want it. It anchors the sleeve securely and prevents it from moving during operation, ensuring consistency and control throughout your cleaning process.

Beyond sleeve management, the Shaft Lock Set also provides additional protection for your drain chains. Some users position a lock near the front or centre of their chain (when using a chain without a drill head) to create a smooth, bevelled surface that helps the tool glide more easily around pipe bends and elbows. This added guidance reduces snagging and improves manoeuvrability inside the pipe.

Each pack includes two shaft locks, machined for precision and meant to be tightened securely onto the flexible shaft with set screws. They provide a solid mechanical stop for the sleeve and a stable connection point for brushes and chain tools.

This updated version is a refined successor to our original brush lock set, offering improved usability, better grip, and wider compatibility.
