The Spiral Drain Hook is designed for fast recovery of a lost flexible shaft in pipes. Its spiral design securely grips and retrieves shafts without damaging the pipe, making it an essential tool for drain cleaning professionals.

Description

Losing a shaft in a drain can cost valuable time and money. The Spiral Drain Hook provides a fast, reliable solution without the need to open the line or damage the pipe.

In addition to shaft recovery, this tool can also be used to remove small masses of fibrous roots. In many cases, pulling roots out is faster and more efficient than repeatedly cutting them, making this a practical addition to any professional drain cleaning setup.

The tool features a forward-facing spiral with a slight upward bend. This design allows it to naturally grab and wrap material around the rotating shaft, ensuring a secure hold during retrieval. Whether recovering a lost flexible shaft or removing light root blockages, the spiral shape improves grip and control.

The Spiral Drain Hook is an essential recovery tool for professional drain cleaners who use flexible shaft systems and want a fast, dependable solution when things go wrong.

Depending on your preference, we also offer other types of grabbers, such as a Chain Retrieval Tool and a Captain Hook.

Shaft diameters:

  • 6mm (1/4")
  • 8mm (5/16")
  • 10mm (3/8")
  • 12mm (1/2")

Important: Using an imperial Allen key may strip the set screws. We recommend using a metric Allen key instead.

A screw set with metric Allen keys can be found here.

Applications:

  • Shaft recovery
  • Removal of small masses of fibrous roots

How to use the Spiral Drain Hook:

  1. To retrieve a flexible shaft, insert the Spiral Drain Hook into the pipe and position it parallel to the shaft you are recovering.
  2. Start your drill or machine at a slow speed. As the tool rotates, it will begin to wrap the lost shaft around the retrieval shaft.
  3. Once you feel resistance and the shaft is securely engaged, pull it out smoothly and steadily.

The hook should always be used with a flexible shaft of an appropriate size.
