The Alternative K9 306 Adapter is a set-screw style connector designed for a 10mm (3/8″) flexible shaft. It replaces the need for a crimped adapter, allowing you to cut and repair your shaft whenever it gets damaged instead of replacing the entire cable.

Description

The Ridgid K9 306 FlexShaft® comes with an adapter that is crimped onto the shaft. When the cable kinks, the user is needs to purchase a completely new shaft. Many customers have asked if it was possible to make an alternative K9 306 adapter which connects onto the shaft with set screws.

The advantage to using set screws over a crimped cable is that if your shaft gets damaged, you can simply cut off the affected section with an angle grinder and continue using the remaining shaft. There’s no need to replace the entire cable.

This alternative K9 306 adapter allows you to repair and reuse your shaft multiple times before needing a new one. It is designed for a 10mm (3/8″) flexible shaft.

With a standard crimped setup, you would need to get an adapter, then crimp it onto the shaft using a crimping tool, or take it to a hydraulic shop to be crimped for you. This adapter eliminates that hassle.

We also offer alternative K9 102 and alternative K9 204 adapters in our store.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We do not claim to sell any brand-name replacement parts. This is NOT an original Ridgid K9 306 product. These adapters are manufactured in our workshop based on customer requests for use with our flexible shafts. We have not made them to be used with their existing K9-306 FlexShaft®.

  • Tighten the set screws gradually and evenly to ensure a secure hold without deforming the shaft.
  • Test rotation at low speed to confirm the adapter is firmly attached and running true.
  • Attach the rest of your setup.
  • Re-tighten the set screws periodically, especially after heavy use or cutting multiple blockages.
