Description
This small friction ring plays a significant role in protecting your flexible shaft system.
During normal operation, flexible shafts typically run between 1200 and 2000 RPM. At these speeds, friction between the rotating shaft and the sleeve can gradually wear down the sleeve ends. The friction ring is designed to sit on the protective sleeve and act as a barrier between the sleeve and the rotating shaft.
This prevents damage to the end of the sleeve and at the same time prevents dirt from getting into the flexible shaft sleeve. Less dirt between the sleeve and the shaft ensures better performance and longevity of both the sleeve and the shaft.
Each ring is also beveled at the end to help prevent snagging when retrieving the shaft from pipe junctions after cleaning work is completed.
Sold as a set of two, covering both the drill end and the tool end of the shaft.
The rings are marked with D (Drill) and T (Tool) for easier installation. Please note that this is only a suggestion, as the rings are completely identical and can be fitted on either end of the sleeve.
