Description
The Screwable T-16 Connector is designed to offer a more reliable and serviceable connection compared to standard crimped T-slide adapters. Instead of permanently crimping the adapter onto the shaft, this connector uses set screws to secure the flexible shaft in place.
With crimped adapters, the individual steel strands inside the shaft can become twisted and stressed at the connection point. Over time, this weakens the joint and increases the risk of failure, especially under repeated torque loads.
In contrast, the set screw design displaces and grips the strands without introducing the same internal stress. As torque is applied, the connection tightens rather than weakens, resulting in improved durability and performance.
Another key advantage is reusability. If a shaft becomes kinked (for example, if a torque limiter fails to engage in time) a crimped adapter must be replaced entirely. With the Screwable T-16 Connector, you can simply loosen the set screws, cut away the damaged section of shaft, and reuse the adapter with the remaining shaft.
This makes it a practical and cost-effective solution for professionals working with flexible shaft systems.
